NICA Organization
The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) is now forming in order to replicate the unprecedented success of the NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing League beyond the borders of California. NICA will establish leagues in other states such as Washington, Colorado and Texas just as it has successfully built the SoCal Interscholastic Cycling League. NICA is being built upon the same quality of service foundation that has helped the NorCal League become the best youth cycling program in the USA.
NICA Services
NICA is responsible for continuing the development of the youth cycling curriculum designed and refined over the past nine years by the NorCal League to further the knowledge base of League staff, coaches, riders, parents, officials, volunteers and committees. NICA provides national leadership and governance to facilitate the development of new interscholastic leagues, promote the benefits of mountain biking for high school aged athletes and establish mountain biking as a legitimate interscholastic sport on a national level. NICA’s supports its chapter leagues by providing the following:
•Curriculum Development
•Coaching License Program
•League Management Services
•Risk Management Services
•Insurance Services
•League Building Services
•Uniform Policies and Procedures (including League Rules)
•Promotion of the Sport at a National Level
•Advocacy for Access on a National Level
